Week 81

I know it has been way way too long.  But winter is here folks and that means plenty of skiing and playing outside.  I have a bunch of pictures to get through from Thanksgiving right up to ten days before Christmas.  Can you believe we are that close?

After an early start to winter it got cold with no snow flying.  But that change in the past week and the skiing has gotten much better with some new powder on the ground.  So here we go with many new pics.

We will start with our annual Thanksgiving trip to Crested Butte that we spend with Ken & Kim.  We had a great meal thanks to Shannon and Kim.  The skiing was great too and always so much fun to see the boys skiing with Ken & Kim.  Here's Peter & Sam Chasing Ken down the hill.

Shannon got a little love from Bubba & Betty Bear the Crested Butte mascots before getting out on the slope one day.

Kim teaching Peter some old school outriggers.

Ken playing with Sam doing some hop turns.

Ken & Peter contemplating the next trick.  This Pic reminds me of the times I was hanging out with Ken 30+  years ago when Ken was coaching me in Freestyle skiing.  Now I'm making Ken and I feel old.

Sam matching turns with Kim.  It's amazing how much better the boys get each time the ski with Ken & Kim.

Catching a little air!

I think Sam's favorite thing he did while at Crested Butte was taking a snowboard lesson from Kim.

I think he did pretty well and he's ready for his next lesson.

Ok, moving on from Crested Butte and back to Breckenridge.  Of course we did some more skiing.  The boys with friend Emmet hanging out at Breck.

Sister Debbie came out to visit last week to do some skiing too.  Here's Deb, Peter & Shanny on the way up.

Deb, Shanny, Peter & Sam out on the hill.

Debbie demanded we get all our Christmas decorations up while she was here so we had to take a day off from skiing to find our Christmas tree.  The hunt for a tree out here starts with a trip to the local National Forest Ranger station to buy your $10 tree permit.  Then we headed out into the Pike National forest to cut any of 7 different species of tree.  That is Shannon way out there in the distance.

It was snowing good and about 5 degrees the day we went out to find our tree.  Emmet and his parents Mike and Cheryl also came to get a tree that day.

The boys and I in front of the tree we decided to take home.

We also took our Christmas card photo our there in the Pike National Forest that day.  But we can't show you that pick here.  So here's a goofball one we took you may enjoy.

Shannon and I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah.  May you all get what you want most this year!  Don't forget about those New Years resolutions too.

Hope you are all happy and healthy.  We also send out our biggest hugs to you all over this holiday season.

Thinking about you all,

Peter, Shanny, Sam, Peter J and Fleur
